What I’m thinking now is that I have only scratched the surface with what I’m trying to say and I should have spent more time on it… I’d say your boys are prob better behaved than my girls. At the moment mine are all hormonal, emotional nightmares and I have achieved very little this week so far…

I've saved reading this until Sunday morning as I couldn't give it my full attention before now. Deborah I'm delighted you've reached this milestone - huge congratulations! And the Merchant is an excellent place to celebrate birthdays. This is a beautiful piece. There are many mothers that I am not and I sometimes wish I could be, but I've made peace with the mother I am and it's better this way. My mum died in April and I have so much gratitude for how she loved and cared for me. I didn't need her to be "all the mums". She was plenty enough. Enjoy your Sunday.

And what a beautiful tribute to your mum - that you didn’t need her to be all the mums, just your mum. I’m sure you miss her very much. Thinking of you x

Thank you! Yes in that photo I definitely see the likeness. There are definitely layers of mothering. Again there could be a whole book on that topic!
