I'm really looking forward to that book, Deborah! You can count on me, alongside your husband, to purchase a few copies. But to be honest, I don't think you'll have any problems shifting those books and they certainly won't gather dust on an old bookshelf. Your writing brings so much joy and I genuinely look forward to taking a few minutes to read your posts. Keep going!

Thank you so much Natasha, this is wonderful encouragement. I'm delighted that you look forward to reading my posts and seeing as I never know what I'm going to write next, it's probably a mystery as to what they'll be about each week! Hope all well with you.

Yeah, I'd ignore your one! That's level of negativity no one needs in their life. Don't be discouraged by a human who is not supportive and keep writing!

Thank you Rosina! Yes I think best to ignore and focus on the positive sources of advice. I’ll def keep on writing!

That self-publishing person sounds like a phoney, or a successful self-publisher who doesn't like the idea of others succeeding. Regarding my 'phony' comment, I was pretty scandalised when a self-described marketing guru told me I should set up as a coach for self-publishing on Amazon. I told her I didn't consider myself an expert as I'd self-published only one ebook on Amazon. "Oh that doesn't matter", she replied. Appalling.

It was a fairly bizarre experience but one that has made me wiser I think. I realise that self-publishing shouldn’t be under-valued as it’s just as complex as traditional publishing. But based on your experience too, it really is a minefield and it is good to know whose advice to trust... Good for you though having already self-published.
